Get to Know Dr. Joe Carbone

Legislator Joe Carbone represents the 16th Legislative District, which is comprised of the northeastern portion of the Town of Irondequoit. Dr. Carbone was elected in 2012 and began his first legislative term on January 1, 2013. He was re-elected in 2015 and is currently serving a four-year term. Dr. Joe is the current President of the Monroe County Legislature.

During his time as a legislator, Dr. Carbone seeks to better Monroe County by helping residents find jobs through Monroe Job Link and support programs that help create and retain local jobs.

Dr. Carbone is no stranger to hard work and business; he is respected by thousands of patients throughout Monroe County for his success as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. He has served the community in this capacity for 30 years and owns two practices; one on Titus Avenue in the Town of Irondequoit and one in Brighton.

Dr. Carbone is involved with many charities and organizations and he serves on the Board of the Directors for the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong as well as the Italian Heritage Foundation. With his management experience from his private practice and the many organizations and charities he has assisted, Dr. Carbone brings a unique perspective to the Monroe County Legislature.

Dr. Carbone is a graduate of West Irondequoit High School Class of 1974. He also earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John Fisher College, and later a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Carbone resides in Irondequoit with his wife, Mary and their daughter, Roma.
